Manea – Footprints of Kupe is fruition long held vision of local Kaumātua (elders) to preserve and celebrate our heritage and to share it with the world.
Guests are warmly welcomed to Manea through traditional welcome ceremonies of pōwhiri before a 75 minute exploration program led by a Footprints of Kupe expert guide. Our guide shares the narrative of Kupe’s arrival in Aotearoa as the very first person to New Zealand. The tour culminates with a 4D live theatre presentation of Kupe’s journey to Aotearoa.
